Use your fingers instead of a comb
Sometimes, your fingers are the best tool for working with curls—combs can create unnatural separation. Stylist Eric Nelson, founder of Sidlab Haircouture in Portland, OR, says he likes to twist, separate and manipulate curls with a fabric texturizer. “For loose, full, humidity-protected curls, use Sidlab Chichi Styling Spray,” he adds. “Pulling curls from the end and lifting while spraying adds great separation and a sturdy foundation to start any updo. This technique is also a great finisher for full ‘down’ styles that need extra body and volume.”
